Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Draft 82-0 (“we,” “us,” or “the site,” accessible at draft82-0.com) collects, uses, and safeguards information when you visit and play our free NBA draft simulation game. Draft 82-0 is an independent project. By using the site, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.
Who we are
Draft 82-0 is a browser-based basketball game where you draft all-time NBA players into a starting five and run a simulated season. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not knowingly ask for or sell personal information. You can email us with questions about this policy.
Information we collect
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run and improve the game:
- Gameplay data stored on your device. Your in-progress lineup, chosen mode, and similar game state are kept in your browser (for example via local storage). This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us as personal data.
- Anonymous usage and analytics data. Like most websites, we collect aggregate, non-identifying information such as pages visited, approximate region, browser type, device type, and referring site. This helps us understand which game modes are popular and where the experience can be improved.
- Technical log data. Our hosting and content-delivery providers may automatically record standard request information (such as IP address and timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
- Feedback you choose to submit. The Feedback page asks for your name, email address, and message. Your name and message are published on that page; your email address is stored privately so we can follow up if needed. Cloudflare Turnstile processes a verification token to help prevent automated abuse.
We do not ask you for your name, email address, payment details, or precise location in order to play. Feedback is optional, and we do not collect precise geolocation data.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. Draft 82-0 and its service providers use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) to remember your preferences, measure traffic, and — where applicable — serve advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling cookies may affect some site features but will not prevent you from playing.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate. Google Analytics may set cookies and process usage data on our behalf. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/privacy and opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Third-party advertising
We may display advertising provided by third-party ad networks, including Google and Adsterra. When advertising is enabled, these partners may process information such as your IP address, browser and device signals, approximate region, ad identifiers, cookies, and interaction data to serve, personalize where permitted, and measure ads. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies and consent controls.
Advertising and consent choices
Advertising and analytics storage are initialized in a restricted state. Where consent is required by law, personalized advertising and non-essential analytics should remain disabled unless an appropriate consent mechanism records your choice. Depending on your location and the services active on the site, you may also see a Google-managed privacy message that lets you accept, reject, or manage advertising choices.
We do not include names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other directly identifying information in ad request URLs or analytics event parameters. We also do not request precise device location for gameplay or advertising. If these practices change, this policy and the relevant consent controls will be updated before the new data use is enabled.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, may use cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to Draft 82-0 and/or other sites on the internet.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site and may use cookies to do so.
You can review how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and learn about advertising cookies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or, for participating networks, the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page and Your Online Choices (EU).
How we use information
We use the limited information we collect to:
- operate, maintain, and improve the game and its content;
- understand aggregate usage trends and popular modes;
- keep the site secure and prevent abuse; and
- display and respond to feedback that visitors choose to submit; and
- display and measure advertising where enabled.
We do not sell your personal information.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and the right to opt out of certain data uses. Because we do not collect account-based personal information, most of these controls are exercised directly through your browser settings and the advertising opt-out links above. If you have a specific request, contact us by email and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, personalized advertising will only be shown with an appropriate legal basis or your consent, obtained through a compliant consent mechanism where required.
Children’s privacy
Draft 82-0 is a general-audience basketball game and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention and security
We retain feedback and its associated email address only for as long as needed to operate the public feedback page, respond to the submission, or address abuse. We rely on reputable hosting and analytics providers and take reasonable measures to protect information, though no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the site evolves or as legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
