About Draft 82-0
Draft 82-0 is a free NBA draft simulation game built around one impossible question: could any team ever win all 82 regular-season games without a single loss? No franchise in NBA history has done it — the best regular season on record is the 2015–16 Golden State Warriors at 73–9 — so 82-0 is basketball’s ultimate “what if.” This site turns that idea into a quick, replayable game you can play right in your browser, with no login and no download.
What the game is
Every run, you spin into a random team and decade, then draft an all-time NBA legend into each of the five starting positions. Once your lineup is set, a simulation grades it across scoring, defense, playmaking, rebounding, and chemistry and plays out a full season to see how close you come to a flawless 82-0 record. A few minutes is all it takes, so you can keep spinning fresh rosters and testing new theories about what an unbeatable team would actually look like.
The game ships in several distinct modes — Classic, Hidden, Team, Cap, 73-9, 0-82, Poach Playoffs, and Era Ball — each with its own twist on the core drafting loop. Some show full stats, some hide them to test your memory, some add a salary cap, and one even challenges you to build the worst possible team and lose all 82 games.
Why it exists
Draft 82-0 started as a passion project by an independent developer who loves NBA history and wanted a fast, fun way to argue about all-time lineups. Debates like “who would you build around?” or “can a cheaper role player be worth more than a superstar?” are more fun when you can actually test them. The simulation gives those arguments a scoreboard, turning barroom debates into short, repeatable experiments.
The goal is simple: make something that is genuinely enjoyable for both die-hard basketball fans and casual players. Longtime fans can test era-vs-era matchups and hunt for hidden value picks; newcomers can learn teams, decades, and legendary players just by playing.
How it is made
The draft pools and player ratings come from an original data model that blends historical box-score production with position and era adjustments. The simulation is our own — it is not a licensed product and is not connected to any official NBA game or statistics service. Draft 82-0 is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Basketball Association or any team.
We publish a plain-language ratings and simulation methodologyso players can see what a result does and does not mean. A great score is a strong fit for this game's rules, not a final verdict on a player's real-world career.
